ISO is the world's leading developer of International Standards. Designed to be recognisable worldwide, ISO standards ensure that businesses meet quality, ecology, safety and efficiency standards. In 2005, Snell successfully achieved the AS/NZS ISO 9001 Quality Management Accreditation from Telarc. This ISO accreditation shows the commitment Snell has to our customers, suppliers and staff. They also ensure that quality standards are constantly being monitored and improved upon.
In addition, in 2009 Snell became one of the first packaging distributors in New Zealand to achieve the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Accreditation. This ensures that our environmental standards are also constantly monitored and improved upon. Snell is audited on these accreditations annually.
Snell has also passed its HACCP audit for another year. As businesses face increasing pressure from their customers, suppliers and government to not only meet their environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements but to go a step further and imbed these realities into their decision making processes, businesses are exposing themselves to a significant degree of risk if they source product from non-HACCP accredited suppliers.
For food processors and packers, the risk is a reality. With potentially negative impacts from a consumer health standpoint and possible brand damage caused by product recalls, food processors and packers must protect their business by sourcing from compliant suppliers.
Looking ahead, we are working towards achieving FSSC 22000, a Global Food Safety Initiative certification which has been developed by some of the world’s leading consumer goods companies. The FSSC 22000 certification focuses on food safety, environmental, ethical trading and other key indicators of ESG compliance.
We will be working towards achieving this certification over the next 18 months to ensure we remain ahead of the curve as the sustainable packaging partner our customers trust and choose to do business with.
